  2. The fall and rise of Kaneda.box.gif:

  4.  When I was clocking up a friend's phone bill on the internet several
  5. months ago, I found a nice - or so I thought - digitised still from the
  6. Anime film Akira (a modern classic, by the by) and downloaded it to
  7. take home with me. But when I saw it at full screen back home my eyes
  8. nearly dropped out. It was really horrible, so I totally overhauled it.
  9. The result is a nice demonstration of what careful palette tweaking and
  10. a lot of hand-added dithering can do to create a decent picture with a
  11. good thick atmosphere even in low res 8 colours. The original mess can
  12. be found in a draw called "Source" in this directory. Whoever digitised
  13. it should be shot.
